Lee Joongpyo
Lee Joongpyo, the author graduated from Chonnam National University with a degree in philosophy. He received an M.A. and Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies from Dongguk University. He taught in the department of philosophy at Chonnam National University and was designated after retirement as Professor Emeritus of the Philosophy Department at Chonnam National University. He served as director of Honam Buddhism and Culture Institute, Bumhan Philosophical Society and the Korean Association of Buddhist Studies. He is the founder of Bulgukwon and he dedicates his time to education and promulgation of Buddhism at present. He is the author of Buddha’s Philosophy, Understanding the Heart Sutra Through Nikaya, the Pali Canon and What is Buddhism? He is the translator of Mutual Causality in Buddhism and General Systems Theory and Buddhism and Quantum Physics.
